President Donald Trump confirmed the death of 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom during a Thanksgiving Day call with US military personnel on Thursday.
Police have identified the suspected attacker as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwale, who was also shot and is now in hospital.
Trump said the administration is examining whether the suspect’s family will be deported.
Following the attack, the administration has also decided to review the status of green card holders from 19 countries. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the shooting.
