Following the long Eid holidays, people are returning to the capital, leading to a noticeable surge in traffic across road and rail networks nationwide.

From early morning, passenger congestion was visible at bus terminals and major highways across the country.

Commuters resorted to buses, trucks, and pickups to reach their destinations.

Owing to high pressure on public transport, long queues formed at toll plazas, particularly on the western end of the Jamuna Bridge. 

Additional police have been deployed in highways to manage the law and order. 

Traffic and commuter pressure also increased on Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh highways.

Despite increased fares, people expressed relief over the absence of major traffic jams. Meanwhile, trains departing for various destinations left on time, with coaches filled with passengers.
