A police officer has been killed in an anti-drug drive in port city Chattogram, when a drug-laden microbus ran over him at Chandgaon on Firday morning.
Kazi Mohammad Salauddin, a police ASI, was crushed when he gave a signal to stop the vehicle carrying drugs at around 6 am. As a result, he died on the spot.
Police said, ASI Salauddin of Chandgaon police station gave the signal to stop the microbus at the check post on the basis of information that there were drugs.
However, the microbus did not stop and drove over the policeman. Later, the microbus with 730 liters of liquor was seized. However, police have not been able to arrest anyone so far.
