Cristiano Ronaldo breaks all-time international goals record in men’s football in Portugal’s 2-1 win against Ireland. Ronaldo broke Iran’s Ali Daei’s previous record of 109 goals.

On the same day, world champions France lost 2 points as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Bosnia after being reduced to 10 men. Early on in the match, Bruno Fernandes was fouled inside the penalty box to grant Portugal a penalty. But Ronaldo’s weak spot-kick was saved by 19-year-old Irish goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.

Then, right before halftime, a stunning header from John Egan granted Ireland the lead. For much of the match, it seemed Bazunu and Ireland would outplay Ronaldo. However, in the 89th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo equalized with a header from a well-placed Goncalo cross to become the all-time lead scorer in international men's football.

On the other hand, France faced a well-drilled Bosnia in the D group. On the 36th minute of the match striker, Edin Dzeko gave Bosnia a surprise lead with a well-placed long shot. However, Bosnia could not hold on to the lead for long. Within 4 minutes after Dzeko’s goal, Antoine Griezmann equalized from Mbappe’s corner kick. Then in the 51st minute, French defender Jules Kunde was shown a red card for a harsh tackle. Bosnia held 10 men in France to a 1-1 draw in what could only be described as a disappointing performance from the current world champions.
