Australia's New South Wales state has reported its lowest rise in daily COVID cases in more than 3 weeks as some lockdown restrictions were eased in Sydney.
Around 935 new infections had been detected in the state, the lowest daily tally since August 27. The state reported four more deaths. Nearly half of Australia's 25 million people are in lockdown after the Delta variant spread rapidly in Sydney and Melbourne.
On the other hand, New Zealand recorded 22 new cases of coronavirus in the community, including three cases outside Auckland, on Monday.
