Amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, a new decision has come out regarding World Cup arrangements. Iran had requested that its World Cup matches be moved to Mexico. However, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has rejected the request.
The Mexican President said, the decision was made due to logistical difficulties, and Mexico cannot accommodate Iran’s request.
Earlier, in response to a letter from the Iran Football Federation about security concerns, FIFA had already stated that there would be no change in venues.
The president of Iran Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, raised concerns about the safety of players.
However, FIFA president has assured that proper and strict security arrangements will be in place for Iranian players as planned.
