In a festive atmosphere, the long-awaited 13th national parliamentary election and referendum are underway.
After voting at Thakurgaon Girls’ Government School in the morning, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, “A new journey of democracy begins today.”
Mia Golam Parwar, the candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami for Khulna-5, casted his vote at the Shiromoni Pashchimpara Government Primary School polling station. He stated that the voting environment has been satisfactory so far. He added that once voting is completed in this atmosphere, the desired goals will be achieved under the changed circumstances.
In Comilla’s Debidwar, 11-party alliance candidate Hasnat Abdullah, after voting at Gopalnagar High School, said, “As time progresses, we will be at the threshold of victory.”
BNP candidate Salahuddin Ahmed of Cox’s Bazar-1 casted his vote at the Pekuya Upazila Government Model DMC Institute.
Independent candidate Barrister Rumin Farhana voted in Brahmanbaria-2.
