The accident took place around five in the morning on the Dhaka–Tangail highway. 

According to fire service, the truck was traveling from Chattogram to northern Bangladesh carrying heavy rods. 

All victims were all laborers working in Chattogram, were also traveling on the same truck. 

Concerned Authority said, thirteen of the victims were from Manda in Naogaon district. 

The authority also said, fifteen people died at the scene, while the injured were rescued and taken to Tangail General Hospital for treatment.
