The first hajj flight has left Dhaka for Jeddah early Tuesday.
Operated by Saudi Arabia's national carrier, Saudia Airlines the flight left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 2:11 am.
Earlier on Monday evening, Religious Affairs advisor AFM Khalid Hossain officially inaugurated the hajj flight 2025 at the capital's Ashkona Hajj Camp.
After that, he met the pilgrims, extending his best wishes and urging them to abide by Saudi Arabian laws and refrain from any behaviour that could tarnish the image of Bangladesh.
A total of 4,180 pilgrims will depart for Saudi Arabia on the first day, spread out on 10 separate flights.
Eight of these 10 flights will land in Jeddah and the remaining two in Madinah.
