The Appeal hearing against HC verdict that acquitted all the convicts including Tarique Rahman has been adjourned until tomorrow.
Earlier this morning, the defence began presenting their arguments before a six-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed.
During hearing, defence lawyers questioned the justification for filing two separate cases over a single incident.
They argued that the government’s main intention was not to seek justice for the 24 people killed, but rather to frame Tarique Rahman.
The Appellate Division expressed surprise over how quickly some of the accused’s confessional statements were recorded.
