A three-judge bench comprising Justice Shahinur Islam, chairman of the tribunal, handed down the verdict in the morning. The court sentenced all the three accused to death as five charges including murder, rape and looting of goods have been proved during the war of liberation.

 Earlier, on April 12, the tribunal set aside the case. After waiting for more than a month, the tribunal fixed the date for the verdict last Tuesday.

Among the three accused, Abdul Matin is a fugitive. In 2016, the tribunal's investigating agency finalized the chargesheet against them
