Deaths of more children have been reported in Sylhet and Cumilla related to measles symptoms. Two infants aged 9 and 10 months died while receiving treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital within the last 24 hours.
In another incident, a measles-infected child from Cumilla died while receiving treatment in Dhaka.
Health authorities say the total number of deaths linked to measles symptoms in the Sylhet division has now reached 37 this year.
Officials added that only four of the deceased children had laboratory-confirmed measles, while the rest were reported with symptoms and complications.
Currently, around 275 patients with measles symptoms are receiving treatment in Sylhet region.
Since the beginning of the year, 149 cases have been confirmed through laboratory tests, while 54 new suspected cases were admitted in the last 24 hours.
