Four people have been killed and at least 15 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj’s Hashara area.
The crash occurred earlier this morning between the Singpara-Nowapara stretch and the second Hashara Bridge.
The deceased were identified as Jalal Uddin, Zillur Rahman, Abdul Halim all from Jashore and Hasib, the truck driver’s assistant.
They were on route to attend an Islamic Andolon rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.
According to the Fire Service, a night coach operated by Hamdan Paribahan collided with a moving truck, causing both vehicles to lose control and crash into the bridge railing.
Two passengers died on the spot, while two more succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
