5 more children have died while undergoing treatment with measles-like symptoms in Sylhet over the past 24 hours, raising the regional death toll linked to the outbreak to 74.
During the same period, two new measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
According to health authorities, both children who died were receiving treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Since January first this year, a total of 325 measles cases have been confirmed through laboratory tests across Sylhet Division.
Of those, 107 cases were recorded in Sylhet district, 178 in Sunamganj, 16 in Moulvibazar and 24 in Habiganj, highlighting the continued spread of the disease across the region.
