The court acquitted three other accused in the case. They are Hitu Sheikh's two sons and his wife.

Magura Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal Judge Zahid Hasan announced the verdict this morning. 

However, Aasiya's family is not satisfied with the verdict. Aasiya's mother has announced that she will appeal to the High Court. 

On March 6, the child, Aasiya was raped while visiting her sister's house in Sreepur in Magura. 

She died seven days later on March 13 at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. 

Later, Investigating Officer of the case then submitted charge sheet to the court on April 13. The trial began on April 23 after the charge was framed.
