Acting President retired Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram has officially begun performing his duties from Bangabhaban for the first time since assuming office.
He arrived at Bangabhaban at around 11:30 am, where he was received with a guard of honour and welcomed by officials with floral greetings.
He later held courtesy meetings with senior officials before attending official engagements.
The Acting President inspects various facilities of Bangabhaban.
Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the responsibilities of Acting President on July 24 following the resignation of former President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
Under Article 54 of the Constitution, he took over the role in his capacity as Speaker of Parliament.
