They fear that BNP may be leaning toward a “go-it-alone” strategy, which could explain the growing distance.
On the other hand, BNP maintains that there is no strain in its political relationship with its allies.
Analysts, however, advise that special attention is needed to preserve the alliance.
BNP formed a 20-party alliance in 2012. In 2022, that alliance was informally dissolved and replaced by a 12-party alliance. In the most recent election, BNP again participated as part of a coalition.
