Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has called on the newly commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Navy to remain steadfast in honesty and self-sacrifice as they prepare to uphold the sovereignty of the nation.

He made the remarks this morning while addressing the Bangladesh Navy Presidential Parade at the Bangladesh Naval Academy in Patenga, Chattogram, where he was present as the chief guest.

In his speech, General Waqar-uz-Zaman praised the Navy’s transformation into a modern, technology-driven, and three-dimensional force, emphasizing its growing importance in the rapidly evolving global landscape of the 21st century.

A total of 52 new officers, including 44 midshipmen from the 2022-B batch and 8 officers from the 2025-A batch, were formally commissioned during the ceremony.

Following an inspection of the parade, the Army Chief awarded medals to cadets who had demonstrated excellence in various aspects of their training.
