A case has been filed with Habiganj Sadar Police Station against 11 individuals, including the district president of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, over an alleged attack on leaders of the National Citizen Party-NCP.
The incident stems from Tuesday's reported attack on an NCP motorcade by members of the Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal in Habiganj.
In response, NCP announced nationwide protests and planned a visit to Habiganj, while local Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leaders announced counter-programmes.
On Wednesday, NCP filed a complaint naming 11 individuals and accusing around 100 un-identified people.
Owing to police restrictions, the complaint was submitted at another police camp in Bahubal Upazila instead of inside Habiganj town.
Meanwhile, authorities withdrew Section 144 restrictions from Habiganj municipality.
