Road journey on Dhaka-Tangail highway likely to add more sufferings to the Eid homegoers. Sufferings on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway have continued after merging two lanes into one lane.
Hundreds of vehicles with passengers and goods are moving very slowly on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu bridge highway due to long tailbacks from Sunday midnight.
About 30,000 vehicles have crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge in the last 24 hours. Many are going home in open trucks and pickups risking their lives to celebrate Eid with their families.
Meanwhile, due to several accidents on the bridge from midnight to morning, the bridge authorities stopped collection of toll for several rounds.
However, police said, there is no traffic jam anywhere even though the pressure of vehicles has increased.
