Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on Malaysia to increase investment in Bangladesh and reopen its labor market for Bangladeshi workers. He made the remarks in a joint statement following two rounds of meetings with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya.
The two leaders first held a one-on-one meeting before leading broader diplomatic discussions between the two countries.
The meetings took place on Monday morning in Putrajaya, Malaysia’s administrative capital.
However, on the second day of his official visit, PM Tarique Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, arrived at Perdana Putra.
They were welcomed by Malaysia’s PM Anwar Ibrahim with a red-carpet reception and a guard of honor.
The leaders later held extensive discussions with high-level delegations from both countries.
