Power and Energy State Minister Nasrul Hamid Bipu has said, in 2026 electricity to be distributed like developed world. The minister also said, currently Bangladesh has capacity to produce 27,000 megawatt electricity.
State Minister for power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu came up with the statement at a press conference on contemporary energy issues at his home in Baridhara of the capital on Friday morning.
He also said, electricity distribution company is not able to collect the due bills at the customer level on time.
The minister informed, there are enough power plants in our country.
He advised that the price of gas used in electricity should be adjusted with the dollar.
He also said, electricity is being given to one crore and 70 lakh people at low cost. The subsidy given for them falls on three crore people, added he.
