Bangladesh Border Guard, BGB, has taken a strict position along different borders to stop alleged push-ins from India by BSF. The force says it is maintaining zero tolerance and strong surveillance.
Meanwhile, nine people, including women and a six-month-old baby, are spending difficult days at the zero line of the border in Roumari, Kurigram, after an alleged BSF push-in attempt.
They have remained there for nearly four days as their citizenship status remains disputed. In Chapainawabganj, BGB handed over seven Bangladeshis to police for allegedly helping a push-in attempt.
Another attempt to push a woman into Bangladesh through Rokonpur border was stopped by locals and BGB.
In Jamalpur’s Dewanganj border area, BGB also foiled an attempt to push in one person.
