BNP is holding a road march programme from Patuakhali to Pirojpur to press home their demand of the resignation of the incumbent government. The road march was started from Krishi Airport in Patuakhali at 9 am.
After crossing 25 km from Patuakhali, the leaders and activists will reach Rupatoli bus terminal area of Barisal city. From there, the road march will go to Pirojpur town through Jhalokathi under the leadership of senior leaders of the party.
Rallies will be held at 5 places on the way. At the end of the road march, a rally is scheduled to be held at Kaukhali intersection in Pirojpur city.
Meanwhile, police and law enforcers are working to maintain law and order. Earlier, the party went on a road march from Kishoreganj to Sylhet on Thursday.
Meanwhile ruling Awami League to hold a peace and development rally from Saturday with an eight-day program. Against the movement program of BNP and its allies.
The ruling party will hold seven rallies in different places of the country including Dhaka. A peace and development rally will be held at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will be the chief guest Central and metropolitan leaders of the party will speak.
As always, the ruling party is preparing for a showdown in the city centering the peace rally. Leaders and activists of the party's associate-fraternal organizations will be present in the rally.
