BNP Secretary General and Local Government minister, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this following a meeting of the party's Standing Committee.

Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee member and Home Affairs minister Salahuddin Ahmed said, if a special parliamentary session is required for the presidential election after the election schedule is announced, the matter will be decided through discussions with the Speaker.

The two-hour meeting, held at BNP chairperson's Gulshan office on Saturday evening.
