BNP-backed lawyers’ panel has secured a landslide victory in Supreme Court Bar Association election, winning 13 out of 14 posts.
Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon has been re-elected president with 2984 votes.
He is currently a member of parliament from Noakhali-1 and a joint secretary general of BNP.
Meanwhile, lawyer Mohammad Ali clinch the secretary post with 2582 votes.
The remaining member position won by a candidate from Jamaat-backed Lawyers Unity Panel. A total of 11097 lawyers voted this year’s election.
