BNP has reiterated its proposal to hold the next national parliamentary elections by December.
The decision was made at a meeting of the party's standing committee on Friday night.
Meanwhile, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul, who returned home after treatment, said that the nation is disappointed with the chief adviser's statement on the national election.
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus addressed the nation on Friday evening, a day before Eid-ul-Azha.
During that time, he said, the next national parliamentary election will be held any day in the first half of April next year.
Following the announcement, BNP standing committee members met on Friday night.
Acting chairman Tarique Rahman joined the meeting virtually from London.
Later, in a statement, BNP reiterated its proposal to hold elections by December this year.
