India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed back nine Bangladeshi nationals across the Panchagarh border through Banglabandha and Ghagra checkpoints, prompting response from local authorities.

On Thursday night, four individuals, including three children, were pushed back by BSF through the Banglabandha border. They were later detained by a patrol team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

During initial questioning, the returnees revealed they had entered India illegally seven to eight months ago and were residents of Jessore.

Meanwhile, five women were pushed back through the Ghagra border in the early hours.

They were spotted by a local Union Parishad chairman, who detained them and handed them over to the Panchagarh Sadar Police instead of BGB.

The women, reportedly from Jessore and Mymensingh, had also crossed into India illegally at different times.
