Students of Dhaka University held a protest demanding the banning of the Awami League. On Thursday night, students from various halls of the university gathered in a procession and converged at the base of the Raju Sculpture.
The protestors then lit fires. During the protest, speakers called for the withdrawal of the remarks made by the chief adviser regarding the banning of the Awami League.
They strongly criticized statements made by several advisers and political parties regarding the issue. The students also issued a warning, stating that- no elections should be held until the Awami League is banned and the July genocide is addressed.
The students have announced another protest at 3 PM today at the Raju Sculpture, demanding the banning of the Awami League. They have also called on students from schools and colleges across the country to join the demonstration.
