The Bangladesh women's football team made history on Wednesday by qualifying for the AFC Women's Asian Cup for the first time, following a remarkable 2-1 victory over a significantly higher-ranked Myanmar.
The crucial win greatly enhanced Bangladesh's prospects of progressing, but their qualification was only confirmed later in the day, after Turkmenistan and Bahrain played out a 2-2 draw.
Bangladesh now sit at the top of Group C with six points from their two wins against Bahrain and Myanmar.
They will play their final group match against Turkmenistan on Saturday.
