Bangladesh not only won the second ODI against Sri Lanka but also received good news in the form of a ranking boost jumping from 10th to 9th in the ICC ODI rankings.
Before the series, Bangladesh had 76 rating points. Their win in the second ODI pushed that to 78, lifting them one spot up the table.
Sri Lanka had a chance to climb higher after winning the first match but dropped in rankings after the defeat.
The West Indies, meanwhile, slipped to 10th. With only the top 8 teams qualifying directly for the 2027 World Cup by March 31, Shanto and Miraz’s side will need to stay in the top bracket.
