The country’s position has improved slightly from last year, when it ranked 14th.

Explaining the report, TIB Executive Director, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman said, corruption has not decreased due to ongoing political favoritism, land grabbing, and lack of transparency in the interim government. 

In the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, Bangladesh scored 24 points, the lowest score in the last 14 years. 

Among 180 countries, Bangladesh stands 150th, making it the second lowest-ranked country in South Asia after Afghanistan.
