Rahman Khan handed over the title deed to Begum Khaleda Zia at around 9 pm on Wednesday.

Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Nazrul Islam and RAJUK Chairman Riazul Islam were present at the time.

After the assassination of Ziaur Rahman on May 31, 1981, while he was the President of the republic, his wife Khaleda Zia was allotted the house located on one and a half bighas of land in the capital's Gulshan area.

The house is near the house named 'Firoza' in Gulshan where Khaleda Zia currently lives in. Apart from this, another house was also allotted to Khaleda Zia inside the Dhaka Cantonment.

But, the previous Awami League government cancelled the allocation of the house in the cantonment.
