3 people have been killed and at least 15 others injured in a collision between a bus and a sand-laden truck in Shahrashti, of Chandpur. The accident took place on the Chandpur-Comilla regional highway in the morning.
The accident occurred in front of Baniachong Patwari Bari in the upazila.
Locals said a Dhaka-bound Al-Arafah Paribahan bus collided with a sand-carrying truck coming from the opposite direction.
The accident is believed to have happened while the bus was trying to overtake another vehicle.
Three passengers were killed on the spot. The injured were rescued and taken to Shahrashti Upazila Health Complex and several private clinics.
