Chelsea have advanced to the FIFA Club World Cup final after a confident 2-0 victory over Brazilian side Fluminense in the semifinal held at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
The Blues took early control of the match, and it paid off in the 18th minute when Pedro, making his first start for Chelsea, found the net with a stunning curling strike from outside the box.
Despite Fluminense putting pressure on Chelsea and nearly equalizing eight minutes later, they couldn't break through.
The English side went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.Pedro struck again in the 56th minute, doubling Chelsea’s advantage.
Fluminense pushed hard late in the match, but Chelsea’s defense held firm to secure a clean sheet and a spot in the final of the Club World Cup’s first 32-team edition.
