Chelsea have secured a commanding 4-1 victory over Benfica in the FIFA Club World Cup knockout stage, advancing to the quarter-finals. Enzo Mares-ca’s side will now face Palmeiras on July 5.
Chelsea dominated possession from the start, but Benfica held firm, applying pressure and maintaining a goalless draw into halftime.
The breakthrough came in the 64th minute when Reece James scored to give Chelsea the lead. Ángel Di María equalized from the penalty spot during added time, taking the match into extra time.
In the 108th minute, Christopher Kunku restored Chelsea’s lead, followed by quick goals from Pedro Neto and Kier-nan Hall to seal the emphatic win.
