The oath ceremony took place in the morning, following the Constitution, as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker were not available. Because of this, the Chief Election Commissioner performed the duty.

According to the Constitution, the CEC can administer the oath if the Speaker or Deputy Speaker cannot do so.

Later in the afternoon, President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath to the new ministers at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, breaking the usual tradition of holding it at Bangabhaban.

This marked a historic moment in the country’s parliamentary process.
