The number of child deaths linked to measles continues to rise at an alarming rate. Over the past 37 days alone, 39 children have died from confirmed measles infections. In addition, nearly 200 more children are suspected to have died from measles-related complications.
In the last 24 hours, five more children have reportedly died after contracting the disease.Hospitals across the country began seeing measles patients in January, but the outbreak escalated sharply in March, particularly in the days leading up to Eid.
Over the past month, the death toll from measles has surpassed 200, with children accounting for the vast majority of cases.
Although, there is no specific cure for measles, doctors provide supportive treatment to help manage symptoms.
Health experts advise parents to seek immediate medical attention if children develop symptoms such as fever, runny nose, cough, skin rash, or red, irritated eyes.
