Although the number of patients infected with measles and showing measles symptoms has declined somewhat, children are still being admitted to hospitals with various post-measles complications.
Physicians say, pneumonia is currently the most common complication found among affected children.
According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services, more than 300 children have died with measles-related symptoms over the past 40 days.
On May 4 alone, 17 children died from measles, marking the highest single-day death toll recorded from the disease.
Bangladesh had previously set a target to reduce measles cases to zero by December 31, 2025.
