Continuous heavy rainfall has heightened the risk of landslides in Bandarban, Rangamati, and Teknaf, prompting local authorities to issue warnings for residents living in vulnerable areas.

A total of 424 emergency shelters have been opened in Bandarban and Rangamati.

However, many residents remain reluctant to leave their homes despite the risks.

Relentless rainfall has turned the Sangu River turbulent, increasing concerns over landslides in the hilly regions of Bandarban, where many people continue to live in high-risk areas.

Authorities have kept 220 shelters ready across the district's seven upazilas.

Meanwhile, all tourist attractions in Bandarban will remain closed until next Friday.

In Rangamati, the administration has identified more than 100 landslide-prone locations.
