Anti-Corruption Commission-ACC has interrogated the owner of contracting firm, Jahidur Rahman over allegations of corruption in the parliamentary sound system project.
He was questioned around 10:15 am at ACC headquarters in the capital
The first session of the 13th National Parliament has faced strong criticism over repeated failures in its sound system, which disrupted proceedings and obstructed MPs’ speeches.
While initially described as a technical malfunction, further investigation has revealed concerning information.
Reports suggest allegations of irregularities and money laundering involving the multi-crore taka parliamentary sound system project.
According to ACC documents, the investigation began on January 13 this year following a formal complaint.
Besides, a separate parliamentary committee has also been formed to investigate the matter.
