In an interview with Sky News, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has said, ousted PM Sheikh Hasina will stand trial for crimes against humanity.
He made the remarks in an interview with UK-based media outlet Sky News. Dr. Yunus also spoke on various issues including looting, killing of one thousand 400 people during July-August Movement and the Aynaghor during her tenure.
Speaking about his recent visit to Ayna Ghor, Dr. Yunus described the horrifying human rights violations he witnessed there.
Dr. Yunus also said, almost everyone in the previous government was involved in these crimes, making it difficult to distinguish those who willingly participated, those who acted under pressure, and those who may have resisted.
He further confirmed that the Bangladeshi government has formally requested India to extradite Sheikh Hasina, but has yet to receive any response.
Dr. Yunus claimed that the government possesses sufficient evidence to bring Sheikh Hasina back to Bangladesh. He added that not only Sheikh Hasina, but all individuals associated with her and her family are also under investigation.
