At least 15 people have been killed in violent clashes between security forces and protesters in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, officials confirmed. Tensions escalated near Rawala-kot as large crowds gathered demanding political and administrative reforms.
Police said more than 10 Thousand protesters had assembled, triggering heavy security deployment and movement restrictions in nearby areas.
Authorities have warned residents to stay indoors and blocked attempts by demonstrators to march toward Muzaffarabad.
The unrest reportedly began over reserved legislative seats for refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir, which several activist groups strongly oppose.
