Many passengers are still missing, and police are continuing search and rescue operations. 

An investigation found that the ferry was severely overcrowded when it capsized. 

It was designed to carry 90 people, but around 243 passengers were reportedly on board. 

At least 18 children were among those killed in the accident. 

President Emmerson Mnangagwa expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and said it had exposed serious weaknesses in the country’s transport sector that need urgent reform.
