Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) President Shoakat Aziz Russel has remarked that the ongoing gas crisis in the industrial sector stems from a failure to make timely decisions during previous tenures.
BTMA chief made the statement following a meeting between business leaders and the head of government at Secretariat.
He expressed optimism about the government’s sincerity in addressing textile sector issues, noting that entrepreneurs have been asked to submit reports detailing the assistance required for closed or damaged factories.
He added that if the level of government attention currently being provided had been present over the last 17 years, the sector would not be facing its current plight. He added that PM Tariq Rahman assured them to resolve the crisis.
