Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samiti has demanded a 50 percent reduction in metro rail fares. This demand was made in the press conference organized in Dhaka Reporters Unity.
In the press conference, the secretary general of the organization, Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, said, due to lack of accountability, the cost of metro rail is much higher then the other countries.
The people have to bear the burden. Such fares are claimed to be fixed due to bureaucratic decisions.
Jatri Kalyan Samiti seeks government's help in re-fixing metro rail fare keeping in mind the general public.
