Dengue infections have surged in Pirojpur with the onset of the monsoon, leading to growing concern as hospitals across the district continue to see an increasing number of patients.
So far this season, 565 people have been hospitalized after contracting the mosquito-borne disease.
In addition, 48 patients are currently receiving treatment at various health complexes across the district.
One death linked to dengue has also been reported.
With the number of infections rising since the start of the rainy season, hospitals are witnessing a steady increase in patient admissions.
However, physicians emphasize that public awareness and preventive measures, rather than panic, are key to controlling the spread of the disease.
