The protesters are demanding cancellation of the appointment, selection of a DUET faculty member as VC, and justice over the recent campus clashes.
Students have blocked the main entrance of the university, preventing entry of staff and officials.
They have also locked administrative buildings, effectively halting academic and administrative activities.
As a result, most university operations have come to a standstill.
Authorities have deployed additional police forces to maintain order, while the situation on and around the campus remains volatile.
