The Law Ministry has introduced an e-bail bond system in 28 districts to reduce case backlogs and make the bail process faster, easier and more transparent.
Law Minister Asaduzzaman in-augurated the fourth phase of the initiative in 12 districts at the Secretariat this morning.
The minister said the digital system will reduce harassment for litigants and allow eligible defendants to obtain bail through a simplified process.
He said the government wants to ensure a hassle-free rule of law and plans to reward districts that perform well in speeding up case disposal.
He also stressed the need to strengthen the justice system and reduce the huge public expenditure caused by prolonged cases.
