At least two people have been killed and four others injured after a strong earthquake struck the Guangxi region in southwestern China. The 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit early Monday morning, causing heavy damage in Liuzhou.
More than 7,000 people fled their homes and moved to safer areas after the quake.
Local authorities said rescue operations are still ongoing. A high-rise building collapsed in Liuzhou city, while emergency responders and law enforcement agencies surrounded the area.
Rescue teams are continuing efforts to save people trapped under the rubble.
According to the Emergency Management Bureau, at least 13 buildings collapsed in the earthquake. One person is still missing.
